Everyone knows the basic travel tips. Use travel-sized toiletries. Check the weather at your destination. Bring extra underwear. But how can you avoid having to purchase extra things because you left something at home? Or avoid arriving with a suitcase full of wrinkled clothing? We compiled a list of travel tips that will help you pack like a pro!
Make A List
Take into account where you’re going to be going while you’re traveling. Is there a special dinner or event you need specific clothes for? Do you have all the chargers needed for your electronics? Write your list. Cross things off as you pack them.
Choose Wisely
Start out by pulling out all of your must-have items. If there was a time to plan your out outfits, this would be it. Try to pack items that can be worn several different ways. A basic colored button-down can be dressed up with a pencil skirt and dressed down with jeans.
Alternate Directions
If you start by laying your pants with the waist to the left, you should put the next pair in with the waist to the right. Since the waist bands are thicker, laying them all to one direction will make your suitcase annoyingly lopsided.
Put Tissue Paper Between Your Layers
This sounds a little weird at first, but hear me out. Adding tissue paper will prevent your clothes from snagging on each other. Less wrinkles. Less snags.
Be Clever
Using pill containers for jewelry will keep it organized and separated. Put your chargers and other miscellaneous items in side your shoes to save space. Roll up T-shirts, pajamas, and other items that don’t wrinkle easily instead of folding them.
Leave Priceless Items At Home
If you HAVE to take jewelry or possessions that are important to you, store them with you, or in the center of your suitcase where they’re least prone to damage, and secure your suitcase with a lock.
