Remedies for Damaged Hair
Invest in a boar bristle hairbrush.
Boar bristles massage the scalp and evenly distribute your natural oils to promote shine, bounce, and texture. Make sure not to use it on wet hair, though, as this can cause breakage.
Wash your hair as sparingly as you can get away with.
Skip washing your hair as many days as you can to allow the natural oils in your hair to develop. If you have a tendency to develop grease quickly, try this living proof dry-shampoo, and keep in mind that hats never go out of style!
When you do lather up, avoid shampoos and conditioners that contain harsh sulfates or parabens.
If you’re looking to go a step further, substitute one normal, in-shower hair routine with a protein-based shampoo and conditioner combo. You’ll notice your hair getting stronger almost immediately. Stick to once a week though; any more than that will actually have the opposite effect and make your mane feel rough. You can also use an organic shampoo and organic conditioner that is all the goodness your hair needs.
Avoid heat and air-dry whenever possible.
Luckily, the air-dried look is the go to trend this year, so it should be a no-brainer!
Don’t pull or rub your hair after washing. Blot and squeeze then let the air do the rest.
Apple cider vinegar & honey rinse
Strengthen hair and increase softness and shine with this recipe: mix 1/4 cup of organic raw honey with 10 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, apply to damp hair, leave on for 15 minutes, and rinse. Results are immediate and contrary to what you may think, it doesn’t smell.
Detangle with conditioner in the shower and avoid the towel-wrap afterwards.
Instead, flip your hair upside-down and lightly blot/squeeze excess water out of locks without pulling on or rubbing the strands. Then let the air do the rest.
Pump yourself full of nutrients
As you may already know, diet has a huge impact on our hair, skin….everything. Nourishing your hair from the inside out is always the best route. Supplement your daily intake with a targeted formula like [primary_product_name link=”true”]. Commit to a once weekly oil treatment
We love using organic extra virgin coconut oil overnight, but a 15 minute mask will also make a noticeable difference.
Oh and don’t do this to your hair…
