Winged eyeliner. Been there. Screwed that up. Seen the memes.
Why is it so hard to get straight even winged liner? I could fill a book with winged eyeliner woes from women everywhere. While I’ve mostly got it figured out (after years of practice), I still mess it up sometimes. The key to getting awesome winged liner, is understanding that it can smell fear!
Extend the lower lash line
The first thing you’re going to do is draw a line that continues the trajectory of your lower lash line. One smooth stroke should do the trick. Slowly lighten the pressure as you get towards the end to get a perfect point.
Connect to the center of your lid
Look down in the mirror to pull the skin on your eye taut. The draw a line connecting the outer tip to the center of your eye. This should be one fluid motion to get the smoothest effect. You can see this demonstrated in the video below.
Line the inner corner
Use the shape of the brush to your advantage by laying it parallel to your eye. Gently line your inner corner.
Fill in the blank spots
Fill in any blank spots. Don’t forget between your lashes!
