I don’t know about you, but no space is ever big enough for me. Whether I’m in a tiny apartment or a good-sized house, everything I own tends to expand to take over every open space. That’s why I’ve become an organization junkie. These are few of my favorite organizing products.
1. Magnetic Spice Rack
I have a magnetic spice rack and I have no idea how I ever lived without it. My kitchen is tiny and we definitely don’t have enough room to be cluttering much-needed shelf space with mismatched bottles of spices. Magnetic spice racks fit nicely on the side of your fridge or under your cabinets, which frees up space on your shelf. Plus, it looks clean and organized and it’s easy to tell what spices you have on hand and what you’re running out of. You can get one here or make your own with this fun DIY.
2. Collapsible hanger organizers
My closet never seems to be big enough for all my clothes but I’m just not ready to give anything away. I love these collapsible closet organizers–they let you keep all your clothes in your closet while taking up a fraction of the space. All you have to do is put your regular hangers into the slots and then collapse the hanger by removing on of the hooks from the bar, making all the hangers lay vertically instead of horizonally. I especially love using them for bulky sweaters that eat up so much of my closet space. Get these hangers here.
3. Junk Drawer Organizing Tray
Everyone has that junk drawer where miscellaneous items go to be forgotten. But every once in a while there’s something in there you absolutely need and when you reach in, you’re sure to impale yourself on scissors, needles, and toothpicks. Save your fingers and your sanity by getting a simple organizer. Get this one here.
4. Under the bed storage
If you’re not using the space under your bed for storage, you’re wasting space. Under your bed is the perfect place to put out-of-season clothes, bulky blankets, or items you don’t really use but you’re not ready to part with yet. Get one at Amazon.com.
5. Travel cord organizer
With all the electronics we carry, something is sure to need to be charged while you’re out. A simple elastic organizer like Grid It can hold the charging cords for your all your devices, pens, keys, and even a backup battery (here is one of my favorite batteries).
6. Shelf dividers
The tops of shelves, especially those on top your closet and out of your direct eyeline, tend to turn into big piles of junk. You can never separate your sheets from your towels and extra sweaters when you need them. Simple shelf dividers make it easier to find exactly what you need without creating a bigger mess while you look.
7. Storage ottoman
An ottoman with a hollow compartment does double duty as both a comfy place to sit as well as a discreet hiding space for bulky items like extra blankets. Your guests will never even know there’s something hiding under their feet.
8. Jars and chalkboard labels
There is nothing a good jar can’t do. Whether you use it to store dry goods in your kitchen, cotton balls in your bathroom, or pens on your desk, glass jars are perfect and look great anywhere. Chalkboard labels make your jars versatile and let you easily update to fit the contents. Plus, they give you a chance to show off your artistic side! Go crazy making the writing on your labels fit your style.
9. Over the door storage
There are a lot of options for over the door storage. You can use a towel rack in the bathroom, a shoe organizer in the bedroom, or a pocket organizer in the closet. My favorite over-the-door storage is a mini-medicine cabinet. It has a mirror on the outside and lots of organizing trays on the inside for makeup, pill bottles, jewelry, and all the hair ties that used to end up on every surface of my house. There’s no reason not to use all the space you have!
10. Pull-out cabinet organizer
Your lower cabinets aren’t at eye level so a lot of times you end up tossing items in there haphazardly and you can’t find what you need when you need it. With sliding cabinet organizers, you can see exactly what you have and grab it easily.
