1. Bring In Some Green
Adding a few plants to your home can really brighten up the space and purify the air. All plants will help to up the oxygen level in your home, but here are three great options for guaranteed cleaner air; the Boston Fern, the Snake Plant and the Peace Lily. Of course, the beloved Fiddleleaf Fig Leaf Tree has been on the top of the houseplant trend lists for the past couple of years and still upholds it’s reputation as a beautiful, living, statement piece.

2. Incorporate Pastels and Bright Whites
Pastel and white linens can instantly brighten up a space. Changing out your throw pillows to a powder blue, light coral or bright white can change the whole feel of the living room or bedroom. You can even freshen up the dining room and kitchen by incorporating pastel tablecloths, dish towels and throw rugs.

3. Add Spring Scents
Adding scented candles or diffusers to your home can transform a closed up, stuffy house into an open and airy botanical garden. I recommend anything light and floral (rose, lavender, freesia) or fresh, clean scents such as lemon or basil.
Declutter EVERYTHING…empty space gives us more room to breathe
4. Bring Home Some Fresh Blooms
It goes without saying that fresh flowers add an instant touch of spring. I like to put arrangements in the spaces we spend the most time in: the kitchen, living room, bedroom and master bathroom. My favorite springtime blooms are white roses, tulips, peonies and daffodils.

5. Stock Up on Lemons and Limes
Think of these two fruits not only as pretty little garnishes for your happy-hour cocktail, but also as perfectly hued decorative pieces for your kitchen and dining area. They are appropriate to display all year round; however, they really brighten and freshen up your space as that snow starts to melt.

6. Give it a Deep Clean
A deep clean of your home or apartment can do absolute wonders! I’m not talking just the normal vacuum and dust routine; I’m talking: let’s dedicate a whole Saturday. Clean out your appliances and kitchen cabinets. Give your bathroom a solid scrub and clear out any old cosmetics, toiletries and medicines that you haven’t used in a while or are expired. Wash your comforter and duvet cover and organize your closet. Declutter EVERYTHING: pack up and donate any unwanted movies, clothes, shoes, etc., to create more empty space in your home. Empty space gives us more room to breathe! Finally, wash your windows, inside and out. Nothing makes a home brighter and feel more like spring than clear windows to let the sunlight in.
