Laundry is something we all loathe but can’t avoid… unless we don’t mind drowning in our dirty clothes. We dislike it mostly because it can be time-consuming and even put a ding in our paychecks. Since losing time and money is no one’s cup of tea, we are going to share with you 10 laundry hacks that will help to turn laundry day into something bearable.

1. Impromptu Dryer Sheets
Run out of dryer sheets? Ball up some tin foil for a cost effective alternative to dryer sheets. They’ve even shown to do a better job at static-proofing clothes.
2. Cure Stale Towel Smell With Vinegar & Baking Soda
A musty smelling towel isn’t exactly what you were looking for to dry off with after a refreshing shower. Instead of washing and rewashing a ridiculous amount, trying to get that nasty smell out, consider an alternative idea. Throw the towels into two hot water cycles, the first with vinegar and the second with baking soda.

3. Use A Large Towel To Dry Clothes Quicker
We’ve all been there. Desperately wishing at the dryer to work faster so you can throw on that beautiful pair of jeans and run out the door. While staring won’t help speed up the process, throwing a big fluffy towel into the dryer will. You’ll even find yourself saving on energy.
4. Extend Your Fabric Softener
Stretch the life of your fabric softener with just a sponge and some good old-fashioned Tupperware. Pour some fabric softener into your Tupperware, cut the sponge into strips, and then throw the strips into the softener until they are saturated. Keep it close so you can throw a new strip in before each wash.

5. Clean Up Grease Stains With Magic Eraser
Do you remember in college when one too many pizza nights ended with grease on your dorm bedding? Forget the dry cleaners. Surprisingly, you can tackle a grease stain yourself by rubbing a piece of chalk against it. It’s like the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, but for laundry.
6. Wash Darks Inside Out
Your darks will stay dark for longer if you put them in the wash inside out. Seriously, this is not an old wives’ tale.
7. Brighten Clothes With Pepper
Your colorful clothing will forever beam as bright as the sun if you add a tablespoon of pepper to the wash. Yes, pepper! It even makes for a bleed proof wash.

8. Resize Shrunken Clothes
It’s a sad day when the dryer takes a toll on your favorite top, leaving it shrunken and un-wearable. But not to worry, you can totally fix this! Simply soak it in a mixture of lukewarm water and baby shampoo, working through to loosen up the material. Once it’s completely saturated you can start to slowly stretch it out until it returns to original size.
9. Save Time Sorting Clothes
A simple yet often overlooked laundry hack is to sort your clothes as you are folding them. Keep socks together and separate from being tangled in underwear. You will only be handling them once, saving precious time and energy.

10. Fold a Fitted Sheet Like a Pro
Folding a fitted bed sheet more often than not turns into some sort of tragic mess. “Wow, that’s real nice to look at,” you say sarcastically after spotting the unsightly lump of fabric in your linen closet. This clever guy made a very easy to follow video to show us not-so-clever people how to properly fold our fitted bed sheets – flat as a pancake and straight as a board.
Utilize these hacks and confidently guide yourself into to more efficient (and hopefully more fun) laundry days. Either way, following these hacks will save both time and money, which is a win-win situation in anyone’s books.
