Who wouldn’t love to wake up looking lovelier than the night before? While beauty sleep is a wonderful aspiration to have, sometimes too much sleep can leave us looking puffy, pale, and frizzy.
That doesn’t need to be the case. Here are some tricks on how to wake up looking flawless. The best part? These all work while you sleep, so there is virtually no effort on your part.
1. Show Your Feet Some TLC
While our knees and elbows can sometimes need an extra layer of lotion to stay moisturized, the heels and soles of our feet are an entirely different beast. One reason is that we are almost always using them!
While it’s a good idea to apply lotion all over before bed so our skin can soak up the moisture and repair itself at the same time, feet need a little more coaxing. Try a thick layer of Vaseline or a similarly thick moisturizer and a pair of old cotton socks to hold the moisture in. You will wake up to effortlessly softer, smoother feet without creating a mess in your sheets.

2. Get a Facial
Do you wake up with puffy eyes and tired, dry skin? A couple simple tricks will leave you perfectly hydrated and dewy without the swollen eyes.
Try sleeping on your back with an extra pillow. This helps to keep the fluids moving around your face rather than settling around your eyes.
Also be sure to apply a night-time face cream with hyaluronic acid. This special molecule was engineered to attract water to the top of your skin, which helps smooth out wrinkles. You will be amazed when you wake up looking like you just had a facial!
P&P Bonus tip: apply a product with brightening ingredients like vitamin C and you will think the skin fairy visited you while you were sleeping.
3. Extra Hydration As You Sleep
If you want to take that facial one step further, pull out that humidifier to combat the drying effects of a heater or air conditioner. Moisture in the air will aid the hyaluronic acid in doing its job, leaving your skin perfectly plumped and hydrated. Dry skin will be a thing of the past, itchy dermatitis will disappear, wrinkles will fade, and “beauty sleep” will have a whole new meaning.

4. Try A Conditioning Hair Mask
Leave-in conditioner is a product that can do wonders for your hair. I often want to use a heavy serum or conditioning mask, but dread being under house arrest for the time of the treatment.
Smoothing a healthy dose into hair before bed allows the product to penetrate cuticles for hours undisturbed with no inconvenience on your part. Wake up to soft, shiny strands that can be strengthened with repeated use. Simply wash and style your hair as usual when you wake up.
5. Wavy Hair Don’t Care
On nights you don’t want to deep-condition your hair, or if you want to be able to wake up and go with minimal effort, try this tip for lush, wavy hair upon waking: shower at night, allow your hair to air dry, and simply apply a light styling product such as mousse.
When you are ready for sleep, put your hair in loose braids or buns. This will prevent hair from tangling overnight, and you may be able to take out your braids for loose, pretty waves when you awake. Remember that switching to a satin pillowcase can help you achieve frizz-free style overnight.
With these easy tips, you’ll be on your way to looking dreamy even after you wake up!
