Sandbagging, the newest and craziest makeup trend is all about creating a dam between your face and your eye makeup. (Like building a dam out of sandbags along a river to prevent a flood.)
You know how when your makeup is totally looking ten different kinds of sexy and amazing, but then a couple of hours you go to the bathroom to check it out and your eyeliner has fallen down into the sunken part below your eyes, basically turning you into some kind of zombie-like creature of the night?
So, here’s what you do, you get a beauty blender, or a brush, or one of those little foam thingies you can buy at the drugstore in a package ten for a dollar, you fill it up with really light, or even translucent powder, and you pile it on underneath your eyes. This is where you create the barrier.
Once you have that done, you leave it on your face while you put on your eye makeup. After your face is looking fierce, save the weird baseball-like powder under your eyes, you wipe it away with a clean makeup brush, and you’re DONE.
Seriously, that’s it. That is all it takes to keep your eyeliner from making you look like an extra on the Walking Dead.
Oh, and you can use it on your lips, too. Same trick, just right under your lower lip.
